- Wash basmati rice thoroughly (several times)
- Place rice and water in saucepan (approximately 1¼ parts water to 1 part rice)
- Bring to boil and lower heat to simmer
- Cook for 12 to 15 minutes
I grew up with the "1 cups rice, 2 cups water" method, but have come to learn a better way. This is essential to master.
