1.5-2 ounces excellent bourbon
1/4 tsp sugar syrup
1/4 tsp Angostura bitters
orange peel twist
Combine sugar and bitters in short glass. Add ice. Pour bourbon over top. Stir, garnish, and serve.
(Note: For a change of pace, try a rum old fashioned, by substituting aged rum and orange bitters, and topping with a double twist of orange and lemon.)
