1.5 ounces bourbon
3/4 ounce bitter-sweet vermouth
3/4 ounce Campari
orange peel twist
Combine ingredients with ice and stir thoroughly. Strain into a cocktail glass, or alternatively, serve in a short glass over ice. Garnish with an orange twist.
Alternative: The Old Pal. Replace the bourbon with rye and the bitter-sweet vermouth with dry vermouth. Campari and orange twist as above. A zippier version.
